Provenance was the foundation for the development of the Uist Wool brand. The design explores and highlights the connection of the product and company to the Hebrides and provides an innovative approach to portraying its heritage.
This emblematic design is inspired by the Triskelion - the Celtic sign of community. The shape is constructed from the shepherds crook, a symbol of the crofter and primary stakeholder in the project. Finally, the circular graphic echos the cogs and dials of the heritage machinery, an intergal part of the identity of Uist Wool.
Uist Wool required a website that could both engage with the local community and sell to international consumers - two very distinct audiences. A simple E-commerce website was developed utilising black and white images to instill a sense of tradition and heritage.
